The following is a statement recently issued by Lucerne Valley Unified School District board trustee Dawn Turnbull. A recent Leader article used a portion of her statement. Below is the statement in its entirety. Editor.
WHY YOU SHOULD VOTE AGAINST THE RECALL ON THE SCHOOL BOARD
SAY NO ON FEBRUARY 2, 2016
There are so many problems with this Board and their decisions; when I state the correct information I am bullied by members of the Board who do not understand the system, program or facts. They refuse to listen and instead I am harassed, ridiculed and outcast-ed by other members of this Board because I have dared to ask questions about spent funds, unaccounted for expenditures and missing money, the details of which I cannot disclose outside of Board meetings. The other Board members (all but one) is orchestrating the recall, they have abused their power by the misuse of District resources to address/discuss the recall--listen to the minutes of 9/1/15 and the 10/1/15 memo from Jim Harvey showing the District's involvement in the recall. The Board even scheduled an October 6, 2015 special meeting to "discuss the recall"--how is that doing the Board's work for the kids? The Board is using your kid's money to politic because they don't like what I am saying for the children. If you have done any research or looked at any evidence you will find that their allegations are unsubstantiated. My recent press release is just the tip of the iceberg. The truth is, I am for the parents, children and teachers of the district, I don't get back-room deals and contracts, I don't have family members working in pork-barreled positions, and I don't owe anyone any favors. I am not the one who should be removed from this board.
