Those wishing to become candidates for the special Lucerne Valley Unified School District school board recall election on Feb. 2 have until Nov. 19 to file the Candidate Statement Form.
Filing formally began on Oct. 13 for the election in which voters within the LVUSD will consider whether to remove school board trustee, and if so, who should fill her seat.
On Aug. 6, proponents of a petition to recall Lucerne Valley Unified School District Board Member Dawn Turnbull submitted a sufficient number of signatures to qualify for a recall election. On Oct. 5, board members of the Lucerne Valley Unified School District passed a resolution calling for a special recall election to be held on February 2, 2016. Registered voters in the Lucerne Valley Unified School District will vote on whether to recall the board member, and then vote for a candidate to replace the member in the event the board member is recalled.
The San Bernardino County Elections Office provides a Candidate Filing Guide for each election. This guide is used to assist candidates with the Candidate Filing Process.
Early voting will begin on Jan. 4 with mail ballots delivered to Lucerne Valley voters on Jan. 8. Voter registration deadline is Jan. 19. The last day to vote by mail is Jan. 26.
